Requirements
Requirements This course will be delivered using a virtual classroom hosted with Microsoft Teams (no software download required, the virtual classroom can run in your browser if preferred).

In order to be successful in this course, candidates must have a stable internet connection and device with a camera that can be physically secured for the duration of the assessment, so that the assessor can observe all skills performed by the candidate.

As part of this course candidates must be able to perform at least two minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.

Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty.
The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations‚ including community and workplace settings.

This delivery mode allows the candidate to cover the topics and assessments of a first aid course in an online course and then participate in an online assessment workshop, where practical assessments will be conducted. Candidates must complete their online learning prior to attending the first aid course.

All candidates are required to successfully complete a range of practical assessments and a multiple-choice theory exam.

Pre-Course Learning
Candidates will be issued the following within 48 hours of enrolment into this course:
  • Token Code to access online learning
  • Community Lifesaver Box (Sent via post)

Candidates must download and submit their completion certificate via email to courses@royalnsw.com.au in order to be eligible to participate in the practical session. This completion certificate can be accessed once all modules have been successfully completed.

Outcomes
This course requires practical application of Resuscitation and other practical scenarios that will require kneeling on the floor. In order to achieve a Statement of Attainment‚ candidates must successfully complete the practical components under the award conditions.

Upon successful completion‚ candidates will be provided a Statement of Attainment with the following units of competency:
  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • HLTAID0010 Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID011 Provide first aid
