REPORTING USE ONLY - Pool Lifeguard FUNDED

Pool Lifeguarding is a fun, flexible and dynamic job. It is also a point of entry for a career in the aquatics industry. The first step is obtaining a RLSSA Pool Lifeguard Licence, which is the minimum qualification for Pool Lifeguards in NSW and meets the standards across Australia. The training undertaken ensures that every Pool Lifeguard possesses the skills and knowledge to handle a wide variety of incidents that occur on a day to day basis at aquatic centres.

The training course is conducted over 3 days.  The course combines First Aid and Pool Lifeguard competencies into an intensive 3 day training program.  Your pre-course materials will be issued 1 working day from enrolment.

All candidates are required to successfully complete a range of practical assessments (within time limits) and a theory exams (short answer and multiple choice).

Please note: A medium level to high level of aquatic fitness is required for some practical components of the course. Candidates must also be able to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.
There is a moderate to high level of reading and writing in this course. ACSF 3 language and reading level required.

Candidates need to be competent in all theory and practical components to successfully complete the award conditions in order to achieve a Statement of Attainment. For more information on assessments click here.

In addition to the successful completion of the course, candidates are required to complete an additional On-the-job assessment in order to obtain a Pool Lifeguard Licence.

This On-the-job assessment ensures the Pool Lifeguard has completed a venue induction process and is able to apply the skills learnt in the training course at their place of employment.
